Maya Caprice Boutique Hotel & Spa, Wengen, Jungfrau - CH
Originality and attention to construction details Execution time and logistics control Respect for architectural tradition in a contemporary project
The Caprice Hotel is located in Wengen, a renowned skiing resort at the foot of the Jungfrau and has all the features of a typical mountain building in the traditional style of the Bernese Alps. This latest work by Linea Design, fully represents the company’s operating philosophy and programme.
There were many interesting elements in this challenging project, from logistics to the rigidity of the architectural structure, to the stringent regulations of those protected environmental areas.
The essential restyling of the rooms and the design analysis of communal areas, mainly the lounge bar, the restaurant and the wellness center, required the involvement of a significant number of professionals in the different technical areas.
The result, which has been reached in an absolutely exceptional timeframe of nine weeks, clarifies our intention to meet all requirements of very demanding customers: we were able to deliver on time despite the extraordinarily difficult schedule.
The challenge was accepted and the result is under everybody’s eyes, also in terms of the attention with which we combined respect for tradition and the original architectural forms with the contemporary needs of technological wellbeing and system functionality.
Modern and contemporary can be put together without disconcerting contrasts since even Alpine architecture needs interiors that reflect the requirements of our time.
Linea Design has been working regularly in the Swiss Confederation for a considerable length of time, and we have shown that we can easily manage any type of local building regulation. Every step in construction has revealed our need to confirm that we are the best partners in any legislative situation, even in the extremely demanding types as was the case here.
This is evidence that few can boast.
Italian creativity is not just artistic and visual expression but proves to be also a complex of scientifically controlled activities to give to any type of project or action the right answers in terms of technologies, systems and time schedules, always putting at the centre our ability to select the best materials and the best resources of international interior design.
In this new Wengen hotel, Linea Design tells another chapter of its history, and shows a way of working that makes us proud of what we have achieved, and of what we are going to build around the world; our strength is our work, our professional ability is sharing together with our customers the quality of every project we implement.
